Course Profile

Programme description

The chemistry major with specialization in general chemistry is addressed to those who wish to study structures and properties of substances, transformations of chemical processes, experiment and discover new chemical compounds, work safely in a laboratory. The course enables students to gain knowledge and skills in basic chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical technology and related sciences. During the studies, social cognitive competences such as understanding, analysing and interpreting measurement data and drawing conclusions are developed.

a scan, of the certificate issued by the organisational committee of a given olympiad or competition - applies to candidates who are the laureats and finalists of olympiads and competitions

a scan of statement by a statutory representative - applies to candidates under 18 i.e. people who as of October 1, 2025 are under 18 years old

a document confirming knowledge of English at B2 level

Candidates with documents obtained abroad also provide:

a scan of a foreign document, which is legalized or accompanied by an apostille, entitling the candidate to take up higher education studies in the country where the document was issued

a scan of translation of the document into the language of the studies undertaken by the candidate, performed by a sworn translator entered into the list of sworn translators maintained by the Polish Minister of Justice, or certified by a Polish consul in the country where the document was issued

a scan of the document recognizing the foreign certificate as equivalent to the Polish Matura certificate – in the case of candidates for first-cycle or long-cycle master's studies to whom this applies

a scan of the document recognizing the foreign diploma as equivalent to the Polish diploma – in the case of candidates for second-cycle studies to whom this applies

a scan of a document confirming the entitlement to study tuition-free – in the case of the foreigners concerned

Other Requirements

Entrance examination for foreigners

Foreigners applying for admission to this field of study who hold educational credentials obtained outside the EU, EFTA, or OECD countries (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Canada, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, United States, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy) and who do not hold an International Baccalaureate (IB), a European Baccalaureate (EB), or a document recognized under an international agreement on the recognition of education (China, Libya, or Ukraine), are additionally required to take the entrance examination.

The purpose of the examination is to assess whether the applicant has the knowledge necessary to undertake studies in the given field, at the specified level and academic profile. The examination results in a grade of either “pass” or “fail.” Passing the examination allows the candidate to proceed to the next stages of the admission process, but is not tantamount to admission to studies. Failure to pass the entrance examination means the candidate is not admitted to the programme.
