GDANSK UNIVERSITY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT (GUPES) is one of the best sport universities in Central and Eastern Europe (Shanghai Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments, 2020-2023). GUPES is the only sports university in Pomerania where theoretical and practical classes are conducted by both recognized scientists and highly qualified specialists in the areas relevant to individual fields of study, as well as coaches of Olympic and national teams and outstanding athletes.
The didactic offer of GUPES is modern, wide and varied. It inclused bachelor’s degree programmes, master’s degree programmes, PhD studies in the field of physical education, sport, dietetics, physiotherapy, tourism and hospitality and beauty science.
As part of the field of study, a student may choose a specialization from a wide range of specialisations designed to meet the needs of the labour market and supplement it with other specialisations offered by the university.
Didactic classes take place in well-equipped classrooms and specialised labs, while sport classes are organized in the numerous professional and varied sports facilities. The University has its own sailing center - the first sailing centre in Poland certified by the International Sailing Federation – World Sailing with the highest category C.
GUPES is located in Gdansk - one of the best cities in Poland to study, work and rest. Gdansk combines tradition with the new culture. it is Poland's principal seaport and the country's fourth-largest metropolitan area. During summer time it is one of the most popular resort at the Baltic Sea.
