Course Description

Course Profile

This course focuses on the optimal use of wood—a renewable, durable, and climate-friendly material—in both traditional and modern industries. What makes our program unique is the combination of chemical and mechanical wood technology with furniture design. You'll learn how to select and prepare materials based on their properties and industry needs, understand key wood characteristics, and explore modern woodworking technologies and machinery. We cover essential topics such as wood drying, degradation and protection, gluing, coating, and the history of furniture design. Practical experience is emphasized through hands-on lab work, semi-industrial facilities, and field trips to timber industry companies. Our Faculty is well-connected with the industry, offering real-world insights and opportunities. Courses are taught by active researchers eager to share their expertise. If you're motivated to work with one of nature’s most versatile materials and contribute to sustainable development, this program is for you.
